002: Are there any? Take A Little

In his previous life, Jiang Xia possessed psychic abilities. Of course, since this power was linked to the soul, strictly speaking, he still retained his psychic abilities after transmigration.

In this world, however, Jiang Xia couldn't perceive ghosts, rendering his psychic abilities entirely useless. When he landed in this new body, he used what little remained of his powers to alleviate the depression that had led to the original owner's suicide.

While nurturing his new body, Jiang Xia reviewed some of the memories left by Jiang Xia Kirishi.

Jiang Xia Kirishi's parents were members of the black organization. They had heroically perished a year ago, crushed to pieces by a heavy truck. Jiang Xia Kirishi, upon hearing the devastating news, had arrived at the scene and witnessed the gruesome aftermath as bodies were being placed into body bags.

Jiang Xia Kirishi had been raised by a somewhat strict nanny, who instilled values of truth, goodness, and beauty in him as a child. Despite later receiving training from the organization, he couldn't reconcile with their bloody practices, which gradually led to his depression. This accumulation of events had ultimately driven him to choose death.

Upon transmigration, Jiang Xia reviewed these memories but didn't find them unbearable.

In the car accident that claimed the lives of Jiang Xia's parents, there were survivors who had been kind to him, especially Shiho Miyano. She appeared cold but acted conscientiously, secretly helping Jiang Xia evade murder tasks as a way to repay his kindness.

Jiang Xia's moral compass didn't align as brightly with Jiang Xia Kirishi's, but he accepted the current circumstances, including his newfound ability.

Additionally, Jiang Xia craved the murderous aura emitted by Gin. A psychic's power primarily drew from residual souls and strong negative emotions within people, but in this world, such sources were nearly non-existent. This scarcity compelled Jiang Xia to search for the occasional murderous aura emanating from Gin.

Seeing Gin was a rare opportunity, but as a peripheral member of the organization, Jiang Xia could be deployed as needed, thanks to his dark family background, making him more trusted than members who joined later.

And Gin wasn't as terrifying as one might expect. As a child, Jiang Xia had watched the anime Detective Conan. The anime was meant to be for leisure, but it had the opposite effect on young Jiang Xia, who became so fearful that he refused to close his eyes when washing his face. He dreaded that something horrific would materialize and malevolent spirits would emerge from the shadows.

The strict teacher brought back a stack of high-definition discs, insisting that Jiang Xia confront his fears by watching them. Although he initially resisted, he gradually adapted and found joy in the process. Yet, he maintained a façade when his teacher wasn't around, pretending to tremble and struggle, creating an illusion of watching cartoons while other kids diligently studied. This charade continued for several months.

Jiang Xia's psychic mind had remarkable memory retention, enabling him to recall the details he'd seen as if they were playing before his eyes. This included details from the anime he'd only watched once.

Upon transmigration, Jiang Xia realized he had a neighbor named "Professor Agasa or Doctor." This filled him with mixed emotions. It was as if his previous Master had been remarkably prescient, even though this wasn't due to the psychic's power of "predicting the future." Nevertheless, it seemed that he could wield this ability, albeit through unconventional means.

Jiang Xia took Shiho Miyano's bag and strolled down the street under the blazing sun. His eyes darted left and right, searching for a black Porsche parked around the corner. This was Gin's car, and it hadn't been replaced for many years. It seemed that cars held a sentimental value to some people.

Beside the car, two individuals were clearly visible. They were tall, dressed in black, and wore low-brimmed black top hats. One had waist-length silver hair, and the other had a wide chin and sunglasses. These were Gin and Vodka, two central antagonists who engaged in intellectual and physical battles with the protagonist. Gin was a formidable villain, while Vodka was a dedicated model worker who toiled diligently for the organization.
